Dear the Maine and company,

I want to thank you for the music that you have produced because it has made a PROFOUND effect on my life. I stopped playing music since January till about mid-June, I stopped because I associated music with my mother and everything about the melodies and keys and sounds reminded me of when my mother was not sick and healthy and also playing. My mother was diagnosed in January of this year with stage four stomach cancer, that’s what stopped me from playing. I took a semester off of school to take care of her and also just to be there with her, come June we’re back in the hospital and her cancer had moved to her bones. I’m sitting in her hospital room looking through itunes trying to find something that’ll help me out of my music rut, I literally did not enjoy music as I once did and I stumbled across “Growing Up”. I bought it seeing that ironically I grew up a lot this past 5 months and when I listened to the song one line hit a cord, “growing up won’t bring us down”. I don’t know what, or how, or why but right after I heard the song and that night I came home, for the first time in 5 months touched keys. I bought CSWS and it was good and I started to enjoy music slowly again, then BLACK & WHITE came out and another song hit a cord. “Saving Grace”, by no means am I a religious individual but again one line did it for me “Hearts so pure in this broken world”, My mother died July 26, 2010 and whenever I hear that song it reminds me of her and in my mind she was a pure heart in this fucked up world. Your music helped me get back into my music and somehow this shitty situation I was dealt with. SO THANK YOU! I know this letter is probably a really emotionally heavy shit and somewhat serious, yet I’m like the least serious person you’ll ever meet ☺ but I just wanted to let you know what type of affect your music has had on me and will forever. And at the H.O.B. concert the little thing you said about how we need to enjoy every fucking moment I totally agree and that we don’t know if we’ll die tomorrow or next week or the next decade but we need to grab life by the balls ☺. Your show was AMAZING and beyond expectations thanks!
