Inside: Black and White- Song's that didn't make it...

Hey everyone so I was going through pictures on my phone and found a few pictures from when we were recording "Black and White" the first one is a picture of a list we made of all the songs we were considering putting on the record. In this picture there are 19 songs listed but I think we ended up adding 4 or 5 more. I still really enjoy alot of the songs that songs that did not make it on to the record but I am very happy with the choice we made. We ended up putting 10 songs on the record but if you look at the second picture we went in and recored 12 songs and decided that the ten songs that made it on to the record were the right one to go together. I think that the combo we chose is the reason Black and White is what is and any other additions at the time would have made it a different album. As happy as we are with the album I still want you guys to hear some of the other songs I think you will really enjoy them. Who knows one of them could be your favorite maine song yet and it isn't even on an album.

That leads me to the next topic we are working on releasing some of those "B-sides" we are hoping to get those out maybe around the holidays or at least before the end of the year so keep an eye out for that. Something else is also in the works to go along with the extra songs and we are putting more effort into it than anything else we have ever done before as a band.

Also we have a bunch of demos from the songs that made it onto Black and White while we were still working on the songs. On October 31'st we are going to let you stream samples of some of the demos so you can hear how it all started! Hope your enjoying everything we are posting.

I've heard A LOT about all these songs that didn't make it. In interview's I've watched, on "The making of Black & White" and the entries I've read in the keepsake book and I really can't wait to hear the B-Sides, From the lyrics I've heard associated with some of the songs that didn't make it they sound really really good! But I love Black & White and I'm glad those 10 songs made the final cut :)

Oh and favorite part? Audio Leaks!! There is nothing better than bands giving out free music & the commentary in some of them make me laugh.

So far my favorite part of inside "black and white" has been either the podcast that you and garrett did about the album or the individual blogs you guys have written about the album. This is really cool, Pat! This is what I really enjoy the most about the Inside Black & White idea because I ABSOLUTELY love learning about how songs came about, how their demos sounded, and DEFINITELY what songs didn't make the album and listening to them. What makes it better, in my opinion, is that I get to sit and analyze how different the complete record would have been if "insert song name here" had been on it instead of a song that WAS on the album. I love doing that! So, this is exciting!
