The Maine To Me
The Maine: ( long but it's worth the read.)
The Maine is honestly my favorite band because who they are, who they have proved themselves to be, what they want to show everyone, and most importantly their music. “Black and White” has been my favorite album of theirs. I already know that “Pioneer” will top it by 100x. The rawness and honesty put into each song. The work that they have done, the fights they have fought to make this record possible. Everything they have done to be a band. I have never met a better group of guys in my life....
I go to their shows because they are incredible live. i go because they make me feel so alive and feel so much. Song after song, feeling what they feel when making it, when playing it. I’m not in for the looks it’s just an added bonus. I’m here because i look up to each member. I look up to John when it comes to how he thinks, the rawness just in his voice alone, and his lyrics. I look up to Kennedy and Jared when it comes too who they are as two separate guitarist and talent they both have. Along with who they are. Each time i’ve talked to them they both have been unbelievably nice along with John too. I look up to Garret when it comes to who he is as a person and stage performer. Sweetheart, on stage never stops even when about to fall over and pass out. He keeps the energy going on stage. His hand was cut up and bloody during Boston, Augustana tour. He kept going. fucking dedication and love. last but far from least, Pat. Patrick Kirch. The drummer. Without a drummer your set is dead. Pat is honestly the greatest drummer i have ever encountered in life. Every show i have been to he has me mesmerized when playing drums. When he goes all out on drums i can’t help but smile wide, wider then i already am. They each put so much into this band. Pat handles the connection with the fans, keeping everyone posted. He doesn’t have to, he choses too. I am so fucking proud of each member, but overall the band as a whole. Each of them are different, but all work so well as a whole. when one doesn’t agree they will speak up. if there is a problem one will fix it or attempt too. i have never been this proud of anyone. I have watched them grow and continue to go on. Sure i have other artist and bands who inspire me, but the connection i have with The Maine is something i have never had with a band.
I’m not done though. The ones who never get recognized, the ones who make it possible for The Maine to tour, to make records, to play shows, and so much more. Not the fans, but the crew. The crew makes everything possible. I can’t go on and talk about everyone who is involved, because i simply do not know all crew members. But i can tell you the ones who i have met have always been great and nice. they truly work their asses off each tour each show. Without crew it would be a lot harder to handle everything.
So i just wanted to clarify why i truly love this band. i’m not one who speaks of love very often when it comes to stuff, but this band i can say i love. None ever realizes or comprehend why i care for this band so much, why i promote them without getting anything out of it, and why i defend them. I don’t need any special things after promoting them. i’m not on the street team, nor do i want to be. I simply do it because they deserve to be herd. They deserve to be known for everything they do. for mainly their music and story. Not too many bands like this around anymore. that’s why i care so much. Music that is recognized at all the fancy award shows is not real. It’s not raw. The ones who deserve awards are not seen because of all these fake hip hop/pop artist who don’t even write their own music. i’m not going to name names and trash others, i simply just believe that they aren’t the ones who deserve the awards and all the outcomes. There are some who do win awards that do deserve them.
but you don’t need a dumb award to know who you and your band truly are. Thats why i respect The Maine. They don’t give a damn about the awards, fame, and fans(not in a bad way fans they obviously love you). They just want to do what they love. Which is performing, making music, releasing albums, showing who they are, and what they have to bring to the music industry.
As long as i can continue doing music, working my butt of for what i want, playing, and some day get to tour like The Maine. i have no problem with anything. You have to be positive and believe. every member is positive. you never once see them get up on stage and say “Well this set will suck tonight sorry folks.” they are always positive. yeah they have their down days and lower moments. They are all human no different from the rest of us.
They inspire me to carry the fire. to keep going with what i want and what i believe i can do. even when others don’t agree. they keep the fire alive in me.

Couldn't have said it better myself
Every word of this is true. No one understands my love either. They always say, "This is just a phase. You'll get over them." I truly believe I will never stop loving The Maine! And when I saw them in concert I couldn't keep my eyes off of Garrett! After the show I think, "How does he do all the head banging without falling over?" Anyway, The Maine is amazing and I love what you wrote here! 7 hours and 37 minutes!!!!!!!!!! PIONEER!!!!!!
