Learning bass!

I got a bass guitar yesterday. I have absolutely no idea how to use it. I'm going to lessons in a couple of weeks to get the basics down, but once that's over with I swear to God to first song I'm learning how to play is Right Girl and then The Black Parade and it's going to sound friggin' awesome! I'm pumped.

For my Mixed Media course, we were asked to create two pieces; one displaying a positive space of influence and one a negative. My space is the idea of escaping reality. I used the idea of masks as the escape. There's three masks: one for music, concerts, and singing; one for reading and writing; and one for art. The girl in the picture is black and white. When she wears the masks, she finds color in the world. This was of course inspired by the lyrics from Color.

I had to explain the other day to a friend who seems to only love melancholy, 'my life is one huge trial' style acoustic music, why I love The Maine.
He shot down every reason so I think I won the conversation by saying "You do not deserve to understand why they are so great. It wouldn't be fair to blow your mind, it's only a little one."

It's fine though. This friend still loves me.
