CRAZY CONCERTS.
How crazy are The Maine concerts? haha i've never been to a legit concert before an i'm really excited and i want to go to one in May. (: But.. i'd have to have one of my parents take me because i'm too young and also none of my friends like The Maine (which is practically impossible, they just never gave them a chance).
So how was your experience? Would parents be outraged by the performance? haha :P tell mee.

So, on the OP tour I brought my mom as well as my friend and her fourteen year old sister.
My mom loves the Maine so she was really excited haha :)
but, yeah, it wasn't super crazy at all. Except for the one time when Martin Johnson stage dived rriiiiiggghht next to us and all the girls were like pushing and shoving and causing a commotion trying to go touch him, it was a pretty parent-approved show. Haha although my mom did say, "HAYLEY!! You never told me those Maine boys cuss like sailors!" haha cuz pretty much every other word is the F word :D
so yeah, totally NOT crazy. Ditto with the other three Maine concerts I've been to.
The Maine are kickass live. Soo much fun to watch, like I can't even describe. I think your parents wouldn't get pissed off or ''dissapointed with you'' for going because The Maine just act like normal guys. John swears a lot though ahah, mainly just the '' F word '' though so nothing too bad. I think even your parents might kinda enjoy their set because they're just sooo cool. I suggest going with an older sibling/cousin, but if you have no choice, just go with your mom/dad. Have fun because you're gunna miss them afterwards.. Maybe that was just me though xD but probably not. &&& John sounds sooooooo amazing live, just to let you know (:
I hope you get to see them because every fan should get to see them atleast once because The Maine are really great.

haha. :P thanks guys. If i was gonna go with a parent, i'd go with my dad and hes pretty cool with swearing and stuff. he went to Green Day with my older sister and well, they are a little innapropriate. haha it'd just be embaressing. you know? I might go with my sister and her boyfriend though...
MORE EXPERIENCES ARE WELCOME. (:

Yeah, Green Day is a little crazier than The Maine. Speaking from having seen both bands. I saw Billie Joe take a guy on stage to sing a song with them but when he didn't know the words, Billie Joe proceeded to call him a douche bag and then kicked him in the ass and told him to "get the fuck out of here."
I've seen The Maine like 12 times and swearing really is the worst. But personally, I don't notice cause I curse a lot myself haha. Crowd surfing really isn't bad when they play. I think my NY warped date was the worst for crowd surfing but its warped so it really doesn't count haha.
hahah. good (:
Well i don't think there's a pit where i'd be attending. i'm not sure though. i'd be deathy afraid to go into the pit, anway. lol.

It's not THAT bad for them. For some bands it gets insane. But when you're closer to the front or the back and not in the middle, you're pretty much safe.
hahaha okay. thanks for the advicee!

yeh john likes to talk about masterbating on stage. just a heads up :P
In 2009, I realized how much happier I am when I'm screaming lyrics at the top of my lungs alongside hundreds of sweaty kids who love the people on stage just as much as I do.

They put on a great show live, like everyone else has said. They are SO worth seeing live! The only thing parents would be concerned about is John's slightly inappropriate language. But, you could always tell your parents what I told mine before my first show "It's not like I don't here it enough at school!" But, you should be fine :) It also depends on which venue you go to, the larger ones can get slightly crazy but the smaller ones are usually pretty good. I saw them in November at Showcase Live in Foxborough, MA and it was a good show, not too crazy!
they are awesome live! john jumps into the audience a lot, which is great :). he does swear a lot tho but, its a concert so that's expected.all around theyre awesome. he also brings people on the stage to sing girls do what they want. he asked me to go up but i was stuck in the pit :( it was way to crowded to get me out of there lol. but the set goes by soooooo fast tho cuz its a ton of fun. ur gunna miss them once the shows over, theyre just that good :)
All you need is good friends and a song to sing along.

ahhhh omg he calls people up?
i'd literally faint if he asked mee. :P
Thanks for your story and suchhh. (:

ohhh, well they are obviously good live, just like everyone has said.
i've have mixed experiences at their shows.
The first time I saw them was in August '08, pretty much no one knew who they were in the crowd and it was so mellow. I was basically one of the only people singing, but I was positioned in the middle of the back crowd :\
Then it changed when I saw them two-ish months later in October. It got waaay too hot in the crowd, but I was so close that I didn't want to leave. My friends left me alone and eventually I left too. I mean, I'm used to pushing and stuff, I was in ADTR's pit once, that was intense. But for The Maine? Getting up front is not going to get them in your pants, sorry.
The third time was the AP tour. There was a girl in front of me with super-long, frizzy hair. I had to leave because she was waving it around and it kept getting stuck to me D: This was unfortunate because again, I was super close.
Then was Bamboozle. I actually almost cried this time. My friend and I stayed through the band before them to get a good spot. We were like literally two rows of people back from the barricade. When The Maine came on, people were like on top of me, but my feet were barely touching the ground. My friend surfed her way out because it was too much for her. I was about to, but the people who were gonna lift me got mixed in with the crowd and I was alone and could barely breathe. Not fun at all.
The last time I saw them was in November. I didn't even bother going in the crowd cause I knew how it was, but at this year's Bamboozle, I'm gonna try to deal with it.
Have fun at the show!!
Take me down this road I'm on, it's late and I don't wanna go alone. If you'll take me down this road, I won't be scared, 'cause we can't be scared.

The crowds really aren't bad at all, well atleast for me the aren't. If you can handle getting pushed and shoved, you'll be fine. I've seen them twice and each time has be fine. well, I hope this helps. (:
when i saw them for the second time, it was during the ap tour. i got punched in the face IN BETWEEN versaemerge and a rocket to the moon. not during but IN BETWEEN.

I actually just went to a show yesterday! My friend and I are kinda young so my mom came with us. We went to a smaller venue and we were totally packed in. My mom sat on the side and she siad she mostly enjoyed it except she was kind of afraid that we would get hurt because there was a mosh pit and we were slightly smothered. In the end, she said she was into it. If you guy, just be careful and stay out of the mosh pits!! Go to a smaller venue though because they'll all be able to sign and take pictures :-) You'll love it!
haha all right. sounds fun. (:
i'm happy to hear you survived and your kinda younger. because i am too, well kinda. i'll be sixteen when i go. (: and i'm kinda small. hahah.
and smaller venues. <3

the maine concerts are always amazing.
although they do swear a lot its all good fun and my mom didn't really find it offense
the first concert my mom went to was the soundtrack of your summer with the maine and they weren't bad. the second time it was with all time low and the maine and mayday parade and my mom thought all time low were a little dirty :) but the maine were a bit more dirty that time. i think it mostly depends on who they are with.
i don't think any parents could get outraged at such a gorgeous group of boys :)

are you talking about the show at crocodile rock? omg it was awful in the pit. i got out and went to the side and it was better. i caught one of garrett's picks :)

they DO cuss a lot and make fun of people, but if your mom has ever seen all time low
or cobra starship live, they make the maine look like saints hahaha
ive seen all time low so many times so the maine's shows dont even phase me
inappropriate wise.
id suggest to your mom to stay out of the crowd and just watch from the back.
because their shows can get crazy.

I don't think parents would be outraged by the performance. I've never seen anything during one of their sets that I thought was out of line or anything and I've seen them a bunch of times. The crowds can get kind of rough so I'd suggest you tell your parents to not get into the pit. But honestly, at these things, just use your head and be mindful of the people around you.
All of my experiences have been good. Their shows are a ton of fun and the kids who go, for the most part, are cool people.
