BLACK AND WHITE!

I'm starting a post about The Maine's new album Black And White. Post on here what songs are your favorite and what you thought about the CD.
My personal favorites are Listen To Your Heart, Right Girl and Color. However, I love all the other songs as well. The boys did an amazing job on this album just like Can't Stop Won't Stop. The CD just makes me feel happy, alive and ready to take on the world! Haha. I think John's voice has gotten more appealing to me and I just can't get enough of hearing it. The album's sound is definitely a bit different from their first but still great. I can not wait to see them in about three weeks. It will be such a fantastic show! Great job, guys!

I know I was surprised when
I know I was surprised when nobody started it sooner!
Yeah, it's sooo hard to choose favorites from The Maine because honestly there is not one song they have come out with that I don't like. I love them all. Haha And as I've been listening to the cd more and more, 'cause you know that is the only thing I'm listening to right now, Fuel To The Fire and Give It To Me also grew on me. I was sooo wary of Give It To Me in the beginning just 'cause it seemed almost too different but now I like it. I love the last lyrics to it "That sinful stare. Your poison kiss. Just like Satan's daughter's holy lips." But yeah, Color is a really good one as is Inside Of You. The latter is just soo....powerful? I'm not sure of the right word. However, I adore the acoustic tracks for Right Girl and Inside Of You. They're pretty in a way and I like hearing John Oh's voice more clearly. I can barely pick a favorite either! But I assume the ones I always put on repeat might be my favorite but then again I don't know 'cause they're all just too good! The album just makes me happy though.
Growing Up isn't my favorite either. It's an awesome song, but....I just don't know. For me, I did the Growing Up With The Maine contest so I heard it alllll the time which isn't bad 'cause either way it's The Maine so I love it but then everytime I hear it I think of my video and memories come into my head and I know it sounds funny but I almost get emotional. I'll start thinking of everything I thought of when I was putting the video together, like flashbacks and then what I was going through while making it. So it's more of an emotional song now and it's almost hard to listen to. I know it sounds silly but it's true.
I know there is absolutely nothing negative to say whatsoever!
I just watched the Inside Of You behind the scenes.......It looks fantasticly amazing. Oh my goodness. It's going to be intense and ridiculous but incredible at the same time. And I adore them all and they are all good looking boys but Kennedy, Garrett and John are killing it in the video. However, Jared and Pat are killing it in their own way :)

I'm not talking trash, so don't get the wrong impression
I love The maine, I've loved them since 2007 & I will always love them, But is it true that the boys only wrote 3 of the songs? I love the album, of course. But some of it, just sounds too much a like. If I honestly only heard the music, without the words. I don't know if I could tell the songs apart. I really don't want them to fall under the record companies teeny bobber generic sound.

Yay for this thread it has come at last! :]
Alright, so right now I think my favorite is "Color", but you should know in my mind I've kind of separated "Inside Of You" and "Right Girl" because I knew them so far ahead of time. I think that "Inside Of You" is probably the best on the album, it just feels like the strongest song, regardless of whether or not it's my favorite. "Saving Grace" is probably my second to "Color", but then there's also "Listen To Your Heart" and "Every Road"! I think it can only be a good thing when you have many favorites :P
I have to ask though, "Growing Up" isn't my favorite, is this just me? I really, really love the concept and the lyrics and I don't dislike it or anything... I don't what it is? Anyone else?
I honestly have nothing negative to say about this! I was unsure of "Give Me More" at first, but now I'm really digging it!
And I definitely agree with you about John's voice, it definitely suits their new direction. With the new rawer sound I feel like it just really makes it stand out. They definitely all did a great job on this one!
