Into Who I Want To Be

The Maine, if you are reading this, then I am overjoyed that you followed my instructions and watched the longer version! The shorter version I submitted to the website ultimately sucked and I'm no sound editor so it sounded like shit. But this gives you the full effect so yeah!

I've been collecting this footage over the last two years. I had this short film in my head for the longest time and I wanted to really show a different side of my editing and another perspective of me as a person. I had the hardest time trying to find a song to use and when Growing Up came out, I thought it was perfect. Then shortly after, The Maine's contest premiered calling out for exactly what I was in the process of making.

This tells the story of who I am right now. In the beginning, the color scheme is grey and unclear; it's blurry and dismal. I went through depression, loneliness, and awkward-as-hell times. As the video progresses, the colors are bright and there's more faces to see. These are the faces of people who helped me, and the faces evolve into who is there for me now. It doesn't necessarily show me growing up entirely, but it shows me growing up into who I want to be. That's the basis of this whole shabang.

Wow, sorry for that novel there. Yeah I poured my heart into this and it means a lot to me!
